The Jesuit Pharmacy in Grodno is a unique museum, the only one of its kind in Belarus. Located on the central square next to the Cathedral church of St. Francis Xavier, this pharmacy is located in a historic building built by the Jesuits in 1709 in the complex of the Grodno Collegium, which is a monument of history and culture of the XVII-XVIII centuries.
The ancient pharmacy functioned from the moment of its creation until the middle of the XX century. In 1953, a medical warehouse was opened in its premises, and later a furniture salon was located here. The restoration of the pharmacy took place only in 1996, when the Grodno pharmaceutical company Biotest leased and restored part of the first floor of the historic building. Since then, the pharmacy and the museum have successfully coexisted in the ancient halls.
The oldest pharmacy has always been an exemplary institution, and currently it continues to be one of the best in the city. The staff of the pharmacy museum, following the traditions of their predecessors, strive to satisfy the most demanding needs of customers. Visitors can not only appreciate the variety of medicines offered, but also spend time with interest, immersing themselves in the history of pharmacy in the original setting of the museum hall.
