One of the most interesting attractions near Zanzibar is Prison Island. Many years ago a British commander built a slave prison here that was never used.
First of all, it is here where you can see the unique endangered species of giant turtles, which are more than a hundred years old. The turtles are funny and clumsy. You can also feed them!
The island is also famous for its amazingly clean beach of fine sand where you can relax.
Surprisingly beautiful coral reefs with exotic inhabitants are also nearby.
