City tour of Delhi, which is a city of contrasts, home to nearly 20 million people from different parts of India. The city is divided into new city and old city. Both the cities are quite different from each other. Old Delhi is the heart of the city where life is vibrant with multi-million jungle and medieval exoticism, while in new Delhi you will see modern skyscrapers
Old Delhi. Old Delhi was once called New Delhi, and it was in the 17th century.
In Old Delhi we will visit:
Jami Mosque. The Jami Mosque was built by order of the fifth Mughal emperor — Shah Jahan. It is one of the largest mosques in India.
Chandni chowk. Chandni Chowk district was designed by the eldest daughter of Emperor Shah Jahan to attract merchants from different countries.
Red Fort. It is one of the outstanding architectural structures of Indian culture. This huge and at the same time beautiful structure was intended for the residence of the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. Inside there are many palaces, pavilions, swimming pools, green spaces that make an impression even today. We will admire it from the street.
The Sikh temple. The temple is called Gurudwara Sis Ganj Sahib. It is one of the main Sikh temples in Delhi. It was built in 1783 to commemorate the martyrdom of the ninth Guru of the Sikh religions.
New Delhi. The most important administrative structures are concentrated in New Delhi. Most of the local nobility live here.
In New Delhi we will visit:
Qutb Minar. It is the world's tallest brick minaret. The minaret is the center of a complex of historical monuments of different eras.
Lodhi Garden. Lodhi Garden is a city park in Delhi. The park contains the tombs of Muhammad Shah, Sikander Lodi, Shish Gumbad and Bara Gumbad.
The Gates of India. India Gate, originally called the All India War Memorial.
The President's house. The official residence of the President of India in New Delhi.
Birli Temple. Lakshmi Narayan Mandir is a Hindu temple also known as Birla Mandir. The temple was built in honor of the goddess of happiness and abundance Lakshmi and Narayana, who is one of the incarnations of the god Vishnu.
The lotus temple. The Lotus Temple is the main temple of the Baha'i religion in India and neighboring countries, built in 1986.
Akshardham temple. Akshardham Temple is a temple complex that is the largest Hindu temple in the world. Akshardham Temple was listed in the Guinness Book of Records.
Step well. Agrasen Ki Baoli are stepped wells resembling pools. They collect the upper ground and rain water, which is then used all year round for drinking, bathing, washing, watering and other household needs.
Wear seasonal clothing and comfortable shoes.
Short dresses are not allowed in Delhi's temples.
