- You will see Mahalakshmi Dhobi Ghat. It's an open-air laundry that takes up an entire block. The biggest in the world. Just imagine: hereditary laundresses work here, they bring things for washing from all over Mumbai. (Washing takes place before 9 am).
- Look at the slums in Dharavi. These are the largest slums in the world, where the rent does not exceed $ 4 per month. It was here that Rukhmanbai, the heroine of the book, lived, who gave the name to a visiting foreigner – Shantaram.
- You will see Victoria Terminus. This historic Chhatrapati Shivaji Railway Station is one of the most beautiful buildings in Mumbai and the largest railway station in India. It was built for 10 years. Today it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
- Look at the Mumbai Supreme Court. It looks more like a colonial-style palace: towers with spires, stone carvings. On one of the bas-reliefs you will see a one-eyed monkey holding the scales of justice. The building is surrounded by a palm alley.
- We will walk around the Colaba district and look at the Leopold Cafe. The Kolaba district, where the main actions of the book "Shantaram" took place, is located on the shores of the Arabian Sea. Since ancient times, visiting Europeans have settled here, and now there are hotels, restaurants and shops for tourists.
- Then you will have a traditional complex Indian lunch at a local restaurant.
- You will see the gateway to India. This triumphal arch is the main decoration of the city. British troops left the country through them after India gained independence.
- You will see the Taj Mahal Hotel. This is a hotel located in the immediate vicinity of the "Gate of India" monument.
