The Church of God Providence in Slobodka

The Church of divine Providence in Slobidka – the most important decoration of the village. It is also called the Church of the heart of Jesus. In this temple usually drop people going to religious tours in Belarus or excursions to our edges.

The building of the Church main facade overlooks a small Central square. It is located so that from a distance seems to float over the village and its surroundings. The white building gives a real aesthetic pleasure to fans of rest in Belarus.

The Church of divine Providence in the suburb became a symbol of the Braslav region and a popular tourist attraction due to its beauty and rich history. He has many years of happy photographers, artists, villagers and guests.

From the history

The construction of the Church lasted from 1901 to 1903 on the levelled platform, supported by a high fence of rubble stone from the area.

Formerly on the site of the Church of the Heart of Jesus was a Church, built with funds from the kind of Mundane. Today, in honor of the former founders of the Church there are two memorial plaques.

During the construction of the Church times there is a problem mainly associated with the delivery of materials. It turned out that horses, carrying cargo, was afraid of heights. Then the builders decided to do the trick and no mistake. They built a deck, on which the horses were moved blindfolded.

Architecture

Church bizarre combines notes of Gothic and romantic architecture.

The main facade is formed from two tall towers with faceted tents, which offer stunning views of the surroundings, and shield, decorated with window-rose. To the main entrance a wide staircase of stone.

Brick and plastered walls painted in pure white color, therefore visible from a far distance. Tourists who come on holiday on Braslav lakeswill be able to admire the building with its many hills. From a distance the impression that the Church is very light and almost airy.

Iron ferrules doors with curtains in the form of floral compositions particularly appealing and represent a significant value.

Intricate swirls plants with forged leaves and flowers symmetrical from the Central strip of each curtain. In the composition of the Central ferrules are not repeated motifs side. All of this was the fact that the fittings of the Church of divine Providence was named one of the best forging work in Belarus. None of the parts or elements is not repeated in the building.

The interior

At the end of the 20th century, artists from Vitebsk completed the painting of the Church. All the walls were covered with ornaments and biblical scenes that delight the eyes of any visitor to the temple visitor.

Stories that can be seen today in the Church of divine Providence in the colony, rarely found anywhere else in Eastern Europe, they are closer to the Spanish and Portuguese motives. The setting includes the very beautiful stained glass Windows, shimmering in the sun.

Near the Church was once the Abbot of the temple organised a bird zoo, home to various species of birds. Among them there are rare and exotic species: the Royal pheasants, chickens Brahma chickens Chabot, Mandarin ducks, grey's cicindina, karolinki.

About 20 years ago the Church was renovated (there are three altars and an organ), renewed and restored. Resting on the Braslav lakes do not miss the opportunity to visit it, admiring the marvelous appearance of the monument.
