The first Orthodox Church on the territory of Krevo appeared in the 14th century. Some sources mention the Church of St. Nicholas Dating back to the period of the early 17th century. In the town of Krevo throughout his long existence, a total of 8 Orthodox churches.
In 1854 was built the Church of St. Alexander Nevsky in Krevo, which is now included in most travel programs. It was made of brick and quarry stone and had the shape of a ship, typical of most Orthodox churches. The Church was located near the ancient Church of St. Nicholas at high altitude above the city. In this regard, during the First World war it suffered one of the first – leaving only the walls.
Regardless of what happened, and what a difficult job to restore had, the parishioners and the rector Michael Levanchuk started to work, and by 1928 the Church was built. He Archpriest died in agony – he was killed by the soldiers of the Polish "Aria Boundary" for the zealous protection of the Orthodox faith and the denial of polonisation of Belarusians.
