During this tour you will learn how Moroccan women live, experiencing old traditions, culture, religion and modern life. We will visit different Moroccan families in their traditional «dar» and «Riad» houses. Your tour will be led by a female guide who will show you around the Medina and explain how women in Morocco lived in the past and how they live these days.
First we will visit a local family in Fez; they will show us how to make «Sfange», «Malawi» and «Kharcha». We will enjoy some delicious Moroccan tea.
During our visit to the second family, we will see how women dress in their homes. You will be shown how to wear the hijab scarf. Moreover, you will have a beautiful hand tattoo done in Hannah. And we will show you a traditional dance of Moroccan women, music will be played on a famous Moroccan instrument called taarija.
At the home of the third family we will have a traditional Moroccan lunch.
After lunch we will visit a business owned by a woman. Then we will see the kind of work that is done in the old town.
Morocco is a liberal country, so times change and mentality changes as well. We will visit a traditional cooperative where women work on traditional carpet looms. It is difficult but interesting work that shows the patience of our women. Moroccan carpets are famous all over the world for their quality and beauty!
