Along Ermak's footsteps

We will visit the monastery on Miteinaya mountain, a place of real history, because exactly here more than 400 years ago the Ermak expedition started. There is a stone here that refers to the beginning of the great campaign to Siberia. I will tell you the history of the Kazan Trifonov's Women's Hermitage and the life story of archpriest Father Nikolai Rogozin. One part of the documentary film "Salt of the Earth" is dedicated to him. There are legends about the gift of healing and visionary father Nicholas, he found grateful admirers all over the country. You will be able to learn about the main shrines of the monastery - the healing spring and the miraculous image of the Mother of God.

We will go to the famous ethnographic park, where you can experience the atmosphere of Russian life in the 19th and 20th centuries. The park features all the typical attributes of a classic peasant village - a potter's, peasant huts, a smithy, several chapels, a balagan (a wooden toy puppet theatre), and even a fire-fighting station! We will visit the central part of the whole complex - Museum of Ermak's Campaign, where you will see a sculpture of Ermak and a unique series of paintings made by the artist Pavel Shardakov. The paintings are dedicated to different stages of the Siberian campaign and are painted in a special style - only natural components were used.
