Friends, an exciting and spiritual adventure awaits you in the heart of the restored Znamenskaya Church in Tomsk! This majestic building, which has survived for centuries, has been brought back to life thanks to the forces of the Holy Trinity Church community. Let's go on a journey together through the history and great traditions of this unique temple.
In 1992, the destroyed building of the Znamenskaya Church was returned to the Russian Orthodox Church, and from that moment the great restoration process began. The strength of the community and the dedication of the residents of Tomsk allowed in 1994 to order a project to recreate it. The first to come back to life was the chapel in the name of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in 1996, and then in 2000 the southern chapel was consecrated in honor of St. Seraphim of Sarov.
The unusual flavor of the church is acquired by three wooden iconostases made of cedar by the masters of the Tomsk Polytechnic Vocational Lyceum No. 20. The painting of these masterpieces was undertaken by Moscow icon painters Dmitry and Galina Larionov, as well as Tatyana Tyakina.
The main shrine of the temple is the Abalak icon of the Mother of God "The Sign", painted in 1637 under Archbishop Nectaria of Tobolsk. The modern list of this ancient image was created by Moscow masters Dmitry and Galina Larionov.
We invite you to take part in an exciting guided tour to discover the secrets of history, fill in the details lost over the centuries and immerse yourself in the atmosphere of spiritual heritage.
