• The Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Philharmonic, named after Ira Malanyuk, is an outstanding cultural organization in Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine. Its history goes back to 1940, when it was founded. Initially, the Philharmonic shared the stage with the Franco Music and Drama Theater. In the following decades, the Philharmonic was located in a historic building on Shevchenko Street, and then, after the music and Drama Theater moved to a new building in 1980, it occupied its previous premises.
• The Philharmonic has various musical groups, such as the Symphony Orchestra, the academic chamber orchestra Harmonia Nobile, the string ensemble Quattro corde, the jazz quartet Art Prestige, VIA Brevis, the duo Dialogues, and the trio of bandurists Pectoral.
The Philharmonic Hall was built in 1891 according to the project of the engineer of the city railway Jozef Lapinsky in the style of magnificent architecture. This building was intended for a theater and became one of the architectural decorations of the city. During the First World War, the building was destroyed, but in the late 1920s it was restored by architect Stanislav Trela. The reconstruction, completed in 1929, gave the building a new look, which has been preserved to this day.
• In November 2010, after four years of construction, a new part was opened in the building of the regional Philharmonic Hall – the administrative building and modern soundproof rehearsal rooms. The total cost of this construction project was UAH 7 million. With these modern additions, the Philharmonic continues to be an important center of the cultural life of the region, offering a wide range of musical events and projects.
