Our first stop is the Ethnographic Museum situated within the premises of Addis Ababa University. Its diverse collection showcases a range of artifacts and everyday items associated with the many ethnic communities residing in Ethiopia.
This museum is renowned for the exceptional quality and diversity of its exhibits. Among the archaeological treasures on display is the fossil of Lucy, a hominoid woman belonging to the Australopithecus afarensis species, estimated to be 3.5 million years old. Additionally, the museum features a wealth of fascinating artifacts dating back to the pre-Axumite civilization.
We'll ascend to Entoto, the former permanent camp of Emperor Minilik II, driving uphill. As we climb, the altitude drops noticeably, and the air becomes redolent with the fragrance of Eucalyptus trees that blanket the region. Upon reaching the summit, there is a panoramic view.
Enjoy a delicious meal at Ethiopia's oldest hotel, founded in 1898. To fully immerse yourself in Ethiopian culture, take part in a traditional coffee ceremony.
Following lunch, the Addis Ababa city tour proceeds to Merkato, the largest open-air market on the African continent, where nearly every conceivable item is available for purchase.
Learn about the Ethiopian Orthodox Christianity by visiting the Holy Trinity Cathedral – one of the most important religious sites in Addis Ababa. Admire the beautiful window stained glass works, the unique architecture, see the tombs of Emperor Haile Sillassie I and visit the small museum.
We proceed with the visit to St. George Cathedral, which is one of the oldest cathedrals in Addis Ababa and also recognized as the most vibrant church.
The final part of the tour is a drive around the city to admire its historical structures and well-known statues. As we travel along Addis Ababa's main streets, we will have the opportunity to see famous monuments and significant buildings.
I was born and grew up in a small town called Goba, located in the heart of the Bale Mountains. I studied tour guiding services at one of the tourism training institutes in Ethiopia. My passion for traveling and the fascinating historical and natural attractions of my country led me into this profession which I adore. I have been working as a tour guide and organizer for more than 10 years all around Ethiopia. I have led and managed groups of tourists in every corner of Ethiopia. I have also worked with film crews, research groups, and professional photographers. My wide experience has helped me gain various related skills, and now I can handle clients in a flexible, friendly, and professional way. I am experienced in different kinds of tours such as trekking, bird watching, historical tours, cultural attractions, and many others. With my love and growing passion for the history and culture of my people, I realized that I loved sharing this enthusiasm with visitors, and so I decided to establish my own tour and travel business. I am very enthusiastic about meeting new people from different parts of the world and helping them witness the amazing natural and historical destinations of my country. I am also excited to learn about other nationalities' culture and tourism attractions.
I will be happy to meet with you and conduct any of my Experiences.
