For those with limited time but still longing for a Tanzanian safari experience, this itinerary is perfect. Explore both Lake Manyara National Park and Tarangire National Park. Observe the largest gathering of elephants in Tanzania at Tarangire National Park, then get an up-close encounter with the famous tree-climbing lions at Manyara National Park. This park is also known for its rich birdlife, boasting over 400 species of birds, and a soda-ash lake.
Make yourself at home and savor your African adventure with us. After arriving at Kilimanjaro International Airport, we'll take care of your transportation to your Moshi hotel, which is approximately 45 minutes away from the airport.
Day 1: From Moshi to Lake Manyara National Park
Early in the morning, we will collect you from your Moshi hotel and transport you to Lake Manyara National Park. Upon arrival, you will see baboons at the entrance of the park. Lake Manyara is renowned for its tree-climbing lions. The park's forest habitat is also home to other wildlife species such as elephants, giraffes, blue monkeys, and bushbucks.
Additionally, it is an ideal location to experience Tanzania's birdlife. The lake's shores, coated in pink flamingos; we will see more than 400 bird species, including waterfowl and migratory birds.
Your afternoon will be spent on a game drive, followed by a picnic lunch. Later, you will head to the outskirts of the Ngorongoro Crater for a refreshing hot shower, dinner, and overnight stay at Migombani Campsite.
Day 2: Tarangire National Park and Moshi
Rise and shine early in the morning to embark on a journey to Tarangire National Park, celebrated for its extensive baobab trees and colossal herds of elephants. The park's sparse vegetation mainly comprises Acacia woodland and massive African Baobab trees, with expansive swamp areas in the south that add to its distinctive and captivating atmosphere.
Here, you may observe up to 300 elephants scouring the dry riverbeds for underground streams. The park is also a congregation site for migratory wildebeest, zebras, and buffalos who cluster around the diminishing lagoons. Keep your eyes peeled for the elusive tree-climbing African pythons.
Tarangire is also home to three rare and unique animal species: the Greater Kudu, the Fringe-eared Oryx, and the long-necked gerenuk.
After a game drive with a picnic lunch, we'll drive you back to Moshi, where you can prepare for your journey back home or your trip to Zanzibar.
Departure day: Transfer to Kilimanjaro airport
This day you will be transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your flight back home or any other place you need.
